We strive to provide the absolute best medical care to our patients though we also recognize the need to limit our services to only those that are required for each patient. To do this, we implement a definite understanding and reach an agreement concerning each patient’s healthcare and the necessary financial arrangements for that care. Your understanding of our financial policies is vital to our healthcare relationship. Please contact our office regarding any questions you have about our fees, your insurance coverage or our financial policies as well as your financial responsibilities to our practice for your care.
Professional Fees: Our medical service fees are comparable to similarly trained physicians and practices in the community and reflect the complexity and personalization of care tailored to your specific needs, the physician’s and staff’s time dedicated to your care, the specialized nature of the physician’s education, and all training and support costs associated with providing and coordinating your care. We are happy to give you detailed fee information any time, just ask.
Patient Payments: Co-pays, deductibles, and services which are not covered by your insurance plan or outstanding balances with us will be due at your appointment. Payments can be made in cash, check or by credit card. Returned checks will be subject to a fee allowed by Texas state regulations. Please contact us if you are having a financial problem and we will do our best to be understanding. Please feel free to discuss mutually agreeable payment arrangements with our office.
Insurance Payments: We participate and accept assignment of payment with most major insurance plans. Though we can submit insurance claims for you, your insurance coverage is still a contract between yourself and your insurer. You are still responsible for all payments and services to us regardless of how much your insurance pays.
PLEASE NOTE: You are still responsible for all payments and services to us regardless of insurance status. If your insurance does not process your claim for payment for any reason within 30 days of submission, the charges will be transferred to you for payment. Common situations that cause this include:
Missed Appointments: Please understand that when you make an appointment with us, we are making a commitment to your medical care and preventing another patient from receiving that care at that time. To help all of our patients and provide appropriate access to our physicians, we reserve the right to charge a fee of $50 for any office appointment which is cancelled with less than 24 hours of notice given. Please note that this fee will not be covered by your insurance company.
Medical Supplies: Certain medical supplies given to you during your visit might require an advanced payment from you. We will submit all charges for your medical supplies to your insurance company, and then will reimburse you the payment difference.
Medical Forms: Disability forms, school forms and letters, attending physician statements and certain supplemental insurance forms take physicians and staff significant time to complete. To compensate for that time, a fee can be charged to provide you with most of these forms. The fee for non-standard forms may be higher than the fee for more common forms.
Nurse Visit: If a patient visits us to see a nurse without an appointment, they may be charged for the visit depending on the time and complexity of the care provided.
In cases of divorce or split custody, the parent who initially brings in the child and signs the paperwork will be the “billed to” party and responsible for payment of the account. We do not get involved in the financial legalities of parents in different households.
Will my insurance cover care at your clinic?
We routinely submit claims to insurance carriers. Please contact your insurance company to verify medical coverage at Spirit of Texas Family Medicine (Dr. Elise Sadoun, MD) and to obtain any needed authorization prior to your visit. Often, your insurer's customer service number is printed on the back of your insurance card.

We happily serve Self-Insured patients.
Our Prices for Self-Insured Patients are on-par with Medicare Rates.
We also have arranged a discount for our self-insured patients with LabCorp, and we will refer you to imaging centers that offer substantial discounts for self-insured patients.
