Personal Interests

After completing residency, Dr. Sadoun and her husband, Jamal, decided to move to the Houston, Texas area. She loves living in Texas which has a growing economy, friendly people, an ideal of freedom, beautiful weather, varied landscapes and cultures, and wide open blue skies.

Dr. Sadoun and her husband raised three beautiful daughters throughout her college and training.

Dr. Sadoun believes in helping vulnerable populations to achieve a better life.  She donates to Healthcare for the Homeless. She also privately supports Water.Org, which provides clean water and sanitation where it’s desperately needed around the world. Biography

Dr. Elise Sadoun is the daughter of Jody Martin, a registered nurse, and Roger Barrett, a journalist and a US veteran. Her grandparents on her mother’s side come from the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. Her grandparents on her father’s side are from Central Ohio. Her heritage is a blend of Irish, French, and Native American. She attended primary and secondary school in Ohio.

She attended the Ohio State University, and graduated in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with Honors, with a minor in the life sciences. She was Magna Cum Laude and earned many distinctions and scholarships.

She graduated in 2007 from the Ohio State University College of Medicine. She was appointed to the Landacre Society for medical student research, served as co-chair for the Family Medicine Leadership Development Program, and completed the Family Medicine Honors Program.

She then completed her Family Medicine Residency at Grant Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio in 2011. She was elected by the hospital staff to receive the Spirit of Caring award for humanism in medicine and respect for the team approach to patient care.
